Perhaps it's time I take another look at it, especially since you've enjoyed it a lot :)Alexa S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13185723439360170259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4932292247636823526.post-52166936092810970022013-03-28T16:17:27.178-04:002013-03-28T16:17:27.178-04:00Hmm, I think it's because there are so many Au...Hmm, I think it's because there are so many Australian YA authors. It's sort of this whole untapped resource of YA that is only slowly starting to make it's way to the US. Not to say there aren't amazing French or South African YA writers, but it's a pretty thriving industry in Australia in particular. I think. It's a good question, though!

And it's not so much the author nationality, it's the setting. TYoSA is set in Sydney, which makes it feel more unique and a lot more fun (for me). So it's not so much that Moriarty is Australian, but that her book is.GillyBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03622344092774777709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4932292247636823526.post-61565607213173282792013-03-27T21:15:34.889-04:002013-03-27T21:15:34.889-04:00On a vaguely related note: a bunch of bloggers hav...On a vaguely related note: a bunch of bloggers have been raving about Aussie YA recently-ish, but I am so clueless about the, er, category? Can you do some sort of post about must-read Aussie books or something, or why you think Australian YA writers get such a cult following but not French or South African or something, I dunno. I'm sure I've read some at some point, but author nationality is the sort of thing that I don't pay attention to...Kirsten!https://www.blogger.com/profile/10348539280521809973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4932292247636823526.post-74914133651517590752013-03-27T14:52:06.640-04:002013-03-27T14:52:06.640-04:00I read it in high school also, and it just blew me...I read it in high school also, and it just blew me away. I read it back in high school and at the time I considered it one of my favorites. I absolutely love her use of letters, notes, etc. And she pulls it off SO well. I would definitely recommend this to contemporary fans. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
