Thirteen Days of Ash and Fire: An Heir of Fire Blog Tour + Giveaway

HEIR OF FIRE IS ALMOST HERE!!! No, this blog isn't turning into a Sarah J. Maas fan blog, though it might seem that way because of how vocal I've been lately about my unhealthy obsession with totally reasonable love for her Throne of Glass series. When Alexa, Judith, Jaz, Rachel, and Katie invited me to be a part of the Maas Thirteen and host a spot on the Heir of Fire blog tour, I spazzed and shrieked and tossed confetti in the air expressed my utmost joy in a way that would certainly not frighten children.

The rest of the tour schedule:

August 26 – Katie @ Polished Page-Turners

Since I reviewed (read: LOST MY DAMN MIND OVER) the epicness that was Heir of Fire (out tomorrow!), I thought I'd do something different on my stop today. What I love most about this series are the characters and how strong and real they are. I know there are a ton of characters and it can be hard to keep track, so here's my visual guide to the main characters in Heir of Fire, from the dearly familiar to the fresh and new!

All images sourced from Sarah J. Maas' Throne of Glass Pinterest board

Characters we've met before:

Celaena's journey in Heir of Fire made me feel so many feelings that I think my feelings are broken.

*gets lost in his amber gaze* Um, what? OH RIGHT. Things are rough for my one true love Captain Westfall in Heir of Fire. He's got to figure a LOT of things out.

OH HAI THERE PRINCE BLUE EYES. I don't even remember what I was going to say. Damn.

Ugh can she be my princess please she is so freaking flawless

New characters in Heir of Fire:

Manon is a badass, man-eating witch with iron teeth and she. will. cut. you.

Okay so I know I'm problably 500th in line at this point but MINE. MY HOT FAE WARRIOR PRINCE HUSBAND. MINE.

Okay Sarah seriously how many boyfriends can I have in one book this is troubling
Aedion is a general in the King's army, but he's also got seeeecrets and really important eyes (seriously) and they call him the Wolf and we really love Aedion, okay? Okay.

Sorscha is a lovely palace healer who totally kisses someone. WAY TO GO, SORSCHA.

Thanks to the fabulous people at Bloomsbury, there are prizes at the end of this blog tour! Win copies of Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, The Assassin's Blade, and Heir of Fire + a tote bag + a signed print of Crown of Midnight! Open internationally!

Okay, not only it, but a huge part of it. I've loved the books so far (and okay, I've read them all, but still) and I'm absolutely dying for more and more and more and more. Not that I'm greedy or anything.

  7. Ummm. *wipes away drool* Why are there so many attractive men in one book? It should be illegal because I'm not going to be able to concentrate on anything else for the rest of the day.

  13. This is most definitely one of my most favorite series of all time (you know… next to Harry Potter…). I just want it to last forever! I can't wait for Heir of Fire to finally be in my waiting hands so I can absorb all of its juicy goodness into my Chaol hungry mind! :)

  14. You're totally fueling my unhealthy obsession Gillian. But I totally love it and this post makes me far too happy to be normal ^_^

*pushes you out of the way* Rowan is mine. ZERO QUESTIONS TO BE ASKED. Although really I'd go for Aedion too or Chaol or Dorian... you know let's just have a five way marriage or something.

  27. BASICALLY WE OFFICIALLY HAVE A THRONE OF GLASS HAREM. Yes/yes? I love that Sarah has written about these men who are just so goddamn appealing and for different reasons! Not to mention her females are basically awesome + badass. I'm seriously in love with this visual guide you've shared, and I'm so happy you were able to join us for the tour!

  28. I've heard tons of amazing reviews about this series and am excited to start reading this series after I finish my current series! It's on my list and I've been in a fantasy/romance genre of reading! Thanks so much!

  29. I can't wait to read this series. I have heard so many good things about it and it sounds awesome!

  30. To be honest I've read the first two books already (plus the novellas!) but OMG it's one of my favourite series at the moment. Just everything about it, reading anything by Sarah J. Maas feels like going home, serenity, heartfelt, beautiful. I don't know, her writing is just brilliant. :)

  31. I love this post! Your mosaics are gorgeous. I'm about 1/4 of the way through this book and SO MANY FEELINGS. I already wish I had the next one ready.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Because you absolutely rave about them!

  33. Anything that has readers this passionate is something I know I have to try, plus I love that she's this kickass assassin, but it sounds like she's kind of girly about her, I like that the author didn't limit her to be one thing or the other, she's a multifaceted heroine like the rest of us.

    ReplyDelete
  34. OMG, the pictures are amazing (and your comments priceless). I can't wait for the third book. I want to meet all those new characters.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Obviously because you're an incredible saleswoman! Additionally, because Celaena seems like an amazing strong female character and from what I know about the series so far, I know I'm going to adore it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Why does Heir of Fire have to be published before my End of Year exams?!!!!! I must resisttttttttttt...
    Nope, can't

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love Celaena. I love her friendships, her romance, her love of clothes, her love of food,I love that after all she's been through she still can stand up and get stuff done. I love that she reacts to Nehemia's death like a normal person would and goes through with her vow. I love these books.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am so excited for Heir of Fire :D It feels like I've been waiting forever!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Fantasy is my favorite genre and bad ass heroines are my go-to reason for reading anything! I haven't started the Throne of Glass series because I haven't been able to get my hands on 'Crown of Midnight' (my library doesn't have it! *pitiful wail*) and there's always just so much going on in fantasy novels that it's easy to forget if you have to wait a year between books. I've been looking forward to reading through the first 2-3 books back to back. I hope I don't have to wait much longer!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I really love fantasy and good characters and i feel like this is the perfect series for everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I have read this series and it is amazing. This is my favorite by far.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love the idea of an assassin who is likeable. In my head the two concepts don't really mix.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wow, Celaena is a wonderful hero.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Fantasy is my favorite genre, and I have heard nothing but amazing things about this series! I need to read it desperately!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I ADORE THESE. AND IDK IF IM THE ONLY ONE THAT REALIZED THAT YOU USED DEAN FOR CHAOL AND SAM FOR DORIAN, BUT EVEN IF IT WASN'T INTENDED I LIKE THE CONNECTION.
