Book Haul (2) and Bookshelf Tour!

So, I'm only just getting the hang of this editing thing, so bear with me. The real star of this video is, of course, my puppy, Ginger. Also you get prizes if you can name every movie I reference in this video (not really, but I'll love you extra). BONUS: you guys get a tour of my bookshelves! Which are nonexistant. So. You'll just have to tune in to see what that means. I include tips on how to stay organized when living in a small space while having way too many books for your own good.

You'll notice I was a GOOD GIRL and did not get any review books this week, because of BEA and trying to be good about space and such. (Ignore the part where I bought things...)

Books mentioned:

Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
Dualed by Elsie Chapman
Gilt by Katherine Longshore
Golden by Jessi Kirby
The Art of Wishing by Lindsay Ribar
Firelight by Sophie Jordan

  1. The Art of Wishing, just keep in mind not all genies are Robin Williams in Aladdin. This book has a surprising dark side. I won't say anymore until you've read it.

    1. I mostly kidding about the Aladdin references. That's just where my brain immediately goes when I think of the word genie! I like that it's got a dark side. I'm excited to read it!

    1. Also, I'm dying at "Surprise! Genie and Aladdin are gay, and they're taking off! See you later, Jasmine, and have fun with your tiger!"

  3. You bought some awesome looking books! I would have bought them too. Here I go, telling you you did a job buying books again...
I like your "bookshelves", or stacks of books from what I can see!

  5. You have an adorable puppy!! Soo cute! =)

Golden is another book I'm gonna read in that summer of stand alone challenge. I was totally going to buy it on kindle but umm after seeing just how shiny and PRETTY it is in your vlog, I'm completely convinced I need it in hardcover! I have Art of Wishing in one of my TBR piles, just haven't gotten around to it yet! Which brings me to... I love your organized stacks! I'm in a small apt and since I don't think my roommate wants me putting all my books in the living area, I've been stacking them in my room. I ran out of room on my one small bookcase and have now resorted to random stacks. I'm gonna look into those vertical shelf things! They look awesome.

Oh and love the Disney references! Makes me want to watch them all now. =)

    1. Aw, thank you! I love my puppy.

RIGHT?! IS GOLDEN NOT THE PRETTIEST. It actually stopped me dead in my tracks in the bookstore!

And do look into those shelves! I got them over a year ago, but I'm pretty sure the Container Store or similar places will still have them. I can't remember the price, but they really weren't that bad. Perfect for capitalizing on little surface area!

  6. OMG your dog is adorable. And so licky. Just like my dog. I LOVE DOGS. More dogs in videos please. I need more Ginger.

The Darkest Minds is awesome and I was super happy to get Never Fade at BEA. Squeee.

Those shelves are pretty cool. I have the big black ones now and I love those. But once I run out of space on those, I am FUCKED. So I might have to start stacking on the floor like you. LOL.

  7. Haha that's actually a really great idea with the stacking. I don't have a bare wall, but I am now determined to find one!

  8. Finding Nemo, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Aladdin, Mulan... Ni-ice.

Also, your bookstacks are magical. And I'm going to dognab Ginger and never give her back.

  9. Ow. Thanks. Could have warned me before the cover of GILT left me blind in one eye.

  10. Finding Nemo, Mean Girls, Aladdin, Mulan... I enjoy you very much.
The Darkest Minds? WANT. Dualed? WANT. Gilt? YES. GOOD. Tarnish is even better! Tudor books = love, especially when Katherine Longshore does them. Art of Wishing I have but still must read. You'll have to tell me how it is if you get to it first.
Also, Ginger is adorable. By sharing her with the book community you are opening yourself up to the possibility of dog theft... I hope you are aware of that ;)
